Former deputy minister made Klang Port Authority chairman

Former Deputy Home Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung has been appointed the new chairman of Klang Port Authority effective April 19.
 
Chor, 52, took over from Datuk Yap Pian Hon, who held the post since 2004.
 
Chor holds a law degree from Lincoln’s Inn and a Masters in Commercial Law from University of Guildhall, London. He has been the Alor Star Member of Parliament since 1990.
 
Apart from the Home Ministry, the Kedah-born Chor also served in the Transport Ministry as its parliamentary secretary from 1995 until 2000.
 
In a statement, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy also thanked Yap for his contributions and services to the port during his tenure as its chairman.
